DakhaBrakha, an experimental four-member folk-punk band from Kiev, Ukraine, closes Lawrence University’s 2014-15 World Music Series with a performance at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Harper Hall of the Music Drama Center.

Reflecting fundamental elements of sound and soul, DakhaBrakha creates a world of unexpected new music. Accompanied by Indian, Arabic, African, Russian and Australian traditional instrumentation ranging from accordions to mouth harps, the quartet’s powerful and uncompromising vocal range melds traditional Ukrainian folk music, African grooves, Eastern colors and a contemporary sensibility the band calls “ethno-chaos.”
