Experimental Ukrainian folk band DakhaBrakha is surely the most interesting and exciting band in town this week. Transforming the more traditional sounds of the Ukraine into something uniquely their own, DakhaBrakha has gained widespread critical acclaim for their thrilling theatrical performances.

In addition to their September 13th performance at the Skylight in Santa Fe, the quartet will be presenting a special performance in Albuquerque on Friday, September 11th. As a fundraising event for ¡Globalquerque! New Mexico’s Annual Celebration of World Music & Culture’s free programming and educational outreach, they’ll be providing a live score accompaniment to a screening of restored classic 1930 film, Earth.
